I have a strida mk5. Today while driving, I pushed it little hard for speed. It also doesn’t help that I am right on the cusp of with limit (210 lbs) and now it’s making this sound from the rear side. I can’t really pinpoint where the sound is coming from. Can anybody help/ encounter similar issue?
Note: The sound only comes when I am riding it, I think my weight on the bicycle have something to do with it. When I try to pick the bike and rotate the tire, the sound doesn’t come. I even stopped peddling and the sound was still coming, so I am ruling out the pedals too
Any possible solutions.

@Blackstridaaustria I have high hopes from you my friend since you always helped me with my previous questions. Tagged you here to get your attention.
(As a matter of fact, anybody reading this post have any idea about what the sound is and how to eradicate it, please leave a comment, I will really appreciate.)

Thank you!
I’m pretty sure that your rear wheel is going to die.
I bet there are several spokes loose, perhaps broken already.
Please do not ride that wheel any longer, it may collaps soon.
Am I right?
I am not really sure. What’s the solution for this? And how can I make absolutely sure that that’s the case. I mean how can I check if my wheel is dying? @Blackstridaaustria
I haven’t seen any spoke being broken, how can I check if they are loose?
Knock on each single spoke (with grip of screw driver, piece of wood etc.).
Do you hear a tone or a dull noise?
Tone - under tension.
No tone - no tension on the spoke.
You should be able to feel that, too…

You could also compare the spoke tension to that of the front wheel…
These wheels can be built sloppy.
They are not made for that much lbs.
Amuro Lee, honoured forum member, had similar lbs - he destroyed several wheels.

Here is a quick video I made. Sorry couldn’t find a smaller piece of wood.
I compared squeezing the spokes for both wheels. The tension seems almost same, most of the spokes on the rear wheel are pretty firm on press I think couple of them are little bit more squishy ( like 85% firm)
I tried the piece of wood test on the front wheel as well, almost same sound. I’m willing to do any other test and send you the video. Thank you for brainstorming with me.
@Amuro_Lee your input is also appreciated.
And when you say to feel the spoke tension, squeezing two spokes with my finger and thumb and they are barely bending, almost as same as front wheel. Is that what you mean when you say feel the tension or am I missing something?
Yes you are right, one can use finger and thumb to squeeze two spokes together.
But there’s some feeling required.
Anyway, well done, the videos are, in my opinion, telling all.
You could try to find a smaller knocking piece, maybe a brush handle.
I can hear at the videos that the tone pitches are very different - and there are dull ones.
Please try a bit more, I think you’re shortly before getting it

Let me try it with a toothbrush handle and post a video real quick.
Here you go
Please let me know if I’m missing something
Couldn’t feel much by squeezing, the front tire and the rear tire kind of feels the same and squeezing.
I don’t know much about bicycles, let alone spokes.. I leave it at your wisdom, what do you think by hearing the sound?
It takes always several minutes before the video is ready to watch…
No worries, please take your time. And thank you very much for your help once again. You are solid.
