Well, in the end, I can’t help you - and I’m really sorry for that.
Normally, I would say: “Ok, move over! I’ll show you.”
Just unfortunately, you’re in Canada…
Mate, you need assistance!
I’d recommend that you call close bike workshops with a simple question:
“Can you true a 24h (=spoke count) 16” wheel?"
Proper trueing
Replacing
(Especially recommended for ++ lbs) Building heavy duty wheels (with 36 spokes) is possible!
Honestly, replacing a wheel will be expensive for me. If this trueing thing works, I will put my bicycle in storage and loose few pounds, and then I will come back to enjoy the bicycle again.
Trueing is to make the rim running round.
It means (in optimal case) that the spokes tension is even and the load spread on all spokes.
The tension of the spokes at your wheel is not even yet, trueing would fix that.
If there is not another damage, too - I’d say yes.
I don’t think that’s necessary, just keep an eye on that wheel in future.
Plastic seems not optimal and please try to keep the knock as short as possible.
But anyway, I’m 100% sure that the spokes are overall too loose - and uneven tensioned.
If you ride along like this, you will hear certainly soon one or more “Ping” sounds - you will see broken spokes then.
If you never done it before, I can’t recommend to true by yourself, there is a lot of patience and trial-and-error required.
On the other hand, it’s not rocket science…
Thank you very much. I will get to truing and will let you know the results soon. I checked a shop nearby and they charge $25 for truing which is not bad honestly.
