Used Strida C1 how to fix pedals?

Hi everybody,

I’m new in this forum. I’m riding Strida bikes since years.
I’ve just received today a used Strida C1 without pedals : how to fit threaded pedals to the existing carbon crank that is including thread less spacers ? Seems that an intermediate piece is missing but I don’t know what and how…
Can somebody help me to identify what to do ?
I’m currently still riding daily a rare Black Tabby limited with the same carbon crank than on the C1, but without spacers for fixing the pedals.
Thanks for your help.
Best regards,
Olivier

Bonjour Olivier,

welcome at Stridaforum

That’s a detail question about a very rare Strida version…sorry, but I couldn’t find any info regarding this.
Maybe it helps if you add images of that crank and your pedals?

Kind regards,

Chris

Dear Chris,

Thanks for answering.

Here is a photo that may help a bit to understand. This spacer on the crank for fixing the pedal has no thread inside. Does it means that a specific pedal only is needed ? Or an intermediate item between the spacer and a standard pedal is missing ? Or something else that I don’t understand maybe ?

A workaround could be to try to remove these spacers and try to replace them by a threaded pedal extender ?

Best regards,

Olivier

Dear Olivier,

indeed, that helps!
What we have here is an original Strida quick release pedal mount.

Do your pedals have an Allen key at their axles (instead of threads)? :face_with_monocle:

Cheers,

C.

Pardon please, forget that above.
You just take an 8 mm Allen key and remove the adapters.
Now you can mount any pedal you want.

Hi Chris,

You’re the best !!

I never saw those kind of special pedals.

Thanks a lot for your time and support.

I’ve ordered threaded spacers for mounting standard pedals, in order to keep an offset and not touching the bike frame with the rear of my shoe.

Best regards

Olivier

Dear Olivier,

I’m really glad that we could solve this

Please do not throw the adapters away - perhaps you can help a fellow rider in future!

Have a safe ride,

Chris
