Recently I started noticing a rattling sound around the steering pin when riding over bumpy road with my Strida LT.
I tried tightening the steering pin first but it was already tight.
Trying to figure out what was wrong with it I compared it to another LT we have and the.only difference I see is that bottom tube moves easier along steering pin on the one with issues.
Almost like the hole is a bit tighter on the good one.
The pin and the small latch on top look the same on both, the angle of the pin regarding the steering tube is the same, the hole on bottom tube looks the same…
What could be the cause of this easier movement of bottom tube along the pin?

Are you really sure?
Plz check once more.
Insert your finger in that hole and make sure that you feel the inner ring of a ball bearing.
It must be moveable, it does not need to run well.

You checked already if the four 274 bolts on your two steering units are tight?
I can’t see any visual differences between the two bicycles regarding the holes for the steering pin.
Yes, I can turn the bearings with my finger, one is on top and one on the bottom.
They don’t turn smooth as on the other bicycle.
Where on the bicycle are the 4 bolts you are mentioning?
Two bolts that hold the steering pin are tight, not sure if I can tighten them more.

I made a video that shows how easy it is to move the bottom tube with my hand.
Interesting thing is that on the other bicycle I can also move the bottom tube but it’s much harder. Almost like the parts on the noisy one are more worn out. Is that possible?

I’ve meant the (in sum 4) bolts which you’re refeerring to in the next sentence:

Actually, I thought of the bottom tube rotating around its axis.
That play of the video, along the pin’s axis, seems normal to me.
Under load, the tubes tend to move away from each other, that play doesn’t matter (usually).
Perhaps are pin and frame hole not lined up correctly…you could try to open the two bolts (while the steering pin is connected) just a little bit and then tighten again. Maybe that helps?
