Part of the rear hub of my strida 5.0 broke off and a spoke broke. I removed the broken spoke for now. Can the strida be ridden safely while i figure out how to fix it?
Does anyone know if someone in the US sells strida parts? Can I get the 340-02 and a spoke without buying a full wheel set? Otherwise, it looks like I have to buy an entirely new wheel set from Canada!
Thanks for any assistance. This is the first problem I’ve had with the strida after 5 years of steady riding in Washington DC.
I’m afraid no, more spokes might break…
I’ve heard there is a new American distributor…
and I know that some distributors are willing to order spare parts and some are not.
(For example: We here in Vienna do have 18" hubs and spokes for both sizes in stock, unfortunately are the 16" hubs out - so I can’t help you directly, sorry.)
But, it might be interesting for you that the price for one wheel would be ~ 2,5 times the costs of a hub; if you add the costs for spoking and trueing your old wheel…
Available by Ming are principially all parts of the actual models.
It depends on the local distributor only which parts they stock…
I’d suggest to ask Bill for a single rear wheel, or maybe you can find a used (good) one…to send you a wheel from Vienna seems not economical
