### Gear ratios information about different models of Strida

**Fri Mar 06, 2009 5:55 am**On Strida 1, Strida 2, Strida 3, Strida 5 and Strida LT, the bike comes with 16" wheels and there are 100 teeth on the front pulley and 30 teeth on the rear pulley. Therefore, the gear ratio is 16" × 100 ÷ 30 = 53.3 gear inches.

On Strida Mini, the bike comes with 14" wheels and there are 88 teeth on the front pulley and 30 teeth on the rear pulley. Therefore, the gear ratio is 14" x 88 ÷ 30 = 41 gear inches.

On Strida SX, the bike comes with 18" wheels and there are 100 teeth on the front pulley and 30 teeth on the rear pulley. Therefore, the gear ratio is 18" × 100 ÷ 30 = 60 gear inches.

On Strida SD and the MAS Special Edition, the bike comes with 16" wheels and there are 80 teeth on the front pulley and 30 teeth on the rear pulley. According to the technical data from Schlumpf's website, speed-drive gives direct drive 1:1 for low gear and overdrive 1:1.65 for high gear. Therefore, when the bike is in low gear, the gear ratio is 16" x 80 ÷ 30 = 42.7 gear inches; When the bike is in high gear, the gear ratio is 16" x 80 x 1.65 ÷ 30 = 70.4 gear inches.

On Strida equipped with speed-drive and 18" wheels, there are 80 teeth on the front pulley, 30 teeth on the rear pulley and the wheels are 18" in size. Therefore, when the bike is in low gear, the gear ratio is 18" x 80 ÷ 30 = 48 gear inches; when the bike is in high gear, the gear raio is 18" x 80 x 1.65 ÷ 30 = 79.2 gear inches.
